Department of Cardiology, Sarawak Heart Centre
The Department of Cardiology of Sarawak General Hospital was set up in 2001 by Dr Sim Kui Hian and Dr Ong Tiong Kiam. Its inception was long-awaited, as it meant that we would not have to continue relying on other hospitals in West Malaysia to provide specialised cardiology care for the people of Sarawak. In 2015, the institution was given administrative autonomy and became known as the Sarawak Heart Center.
Malaysian Medical Association
The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) is the main representative body for all registered medical practitioners in Malaysia. The MMA is for ALL doctors - young or not-so-young, private and public, Specialists and General Practitioners, Medical Officers and House Officers, as well at Medical students. Formed in 1959, with membership more than 18000.
